This performance is full of the fire and complexity found in the extended bebop style.  Although there are moments of more traditional bebop and even swing, there is no doubt that the primary focus is extended technique.  The level of virtuosity of the soloists and the difficult unison lines is indicative of the extended concepts of bebop in the 1980s and 1990s.
